Sara grew up in Cleveland, OH, and after graduating (with Honors) from business college attaining an A.A. as a Legal Secretary/Assistant, she relocated to Washington, DC.
Sara brings to us over thirty-five years experience as a Legal Secretary/Administrative Assistant having worked on Capitol Hill with the House Judiciary Committee, for 3 Members of Congress, and the Law Revision Counsel. While in DC, Sara was a catcher for a two-time championship winning woman’s fast-pitch softball team. Her love for baseball continued and she has had the good fortune to have worked as a Secretary for the Baltimore Orioles, Florida Marlins , and Washington Nationals.
Sara also lived in New York City and worked in four Broadway shows as a Producer’s Assistant. Sara was sent to Australia for a year to to work with a touring show.
Sara has traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia, Norway and the British Isles.
Back in DC in 1981, Sara received an appointment as an Assistant in the Presidential Personnel office, followed by an appointment to serve as Confidential Assistant to the Deputy Director of the VA.
Sara is passionate about volunteer work with she has been able to pursue since living in Florida; beginning in 1993, Sara has been a volunteer with the Wuesthoff Hospice team as a non-medical, “friendly visitor”.
Sara has a life-time honorable membership with her local fire department, having been their monthly cook and reserve organization secretary for their business meetings since 1996,
Sara will say, however, that her greatest privilege has been parenting her daughter, Lauren, of whom she is very proud. Lauren is a Director for a national health care company and lives in DC. They often travel together.
Sara’s hobbies include tending to her natural habitat yard, running the occasional 5K, writing and photo journaling.
