Jill Cook is the Leader of the Litigation Department, focusing her practice on representing individuals and businesses in litigation across a broad range of disciplines, including contracts, real property, corporate disputes, banking, franchising, consumer protection, employment, and probate. With more than 25 years of legal experience, she brings a depth of knowledge and strategic perspective to complex disputes.
Jill began her career as a federal judicial clerk for the Honorable Rosemary Barkett on the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, followed by private practice as a commercial litigator at Akerman LLP and Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney in Miami. She has also served as in-house counsel at Office Depot, Lady of America Franchise Corporation, Braman Management, Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, most recently as chief legal officer for a federal credit union. Her in-house experience spans highly regulated industries, including automobile dealerships, franchising, passenger cruise lines, hospitality, and retail sales.
With experience on both sides of the aisle, Jill helps businesses develop creative and effective resolutions to disputes, while prioritizing risk mitigation and assessment. She is recognized for outstanding negotiation and relationship-building skills and for quickly establishing trust and rapport with clients.
Jill earned her Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri. She is admitted to practice in Florida, Missouri, and Tennessee. Outside of the courtroom, Jill enjoys the Florida sunshine, reading, and time with her dogs, Grace and Tom Petty.
